How is your Facebook Business page doing?
Are you happy with the amount of traffic it pushes to your site? Or are you considering shutting it down because you don’t have time to put any effort into it?
Regardless of your success with a Facebook Business page, it’s wise to consider turning your Facebook Business page into a mobile app.
Why?
Because the world is moving towards mobile technology, and your customers, at some point, are going to want to connect with you through their tablets and phones.
Seeing as how you may not have all the time in the world to implement a mobile app, why not use a page that’s already part of your organization?
When you turn your Facebook Business page into a mobile app, people can interact with you from that mobile app, without having to open up a browser or search for you through Facebook. In addition, you won’t have to manage both a Facebook page and mobile app. Instead, all of your Facebook updates are automatically reflected on the mobile app as well, cutting down on the amount of time spent on your end.
Are you sold? If so, keep reading to learn how to turn your Facebook Business page into a mobile app. After that, you’ll have the power to make updates in one place and connect with customers through two.
Step 1: Go to iBuildApp and Select the Option to Convert Your Facebook Business Page
Start the process by going to this page, which allows you to copy in your Facebook Business page name and convert it into a legitimate mobile app for people to download and play around with on their phones.
You can also find this Facebook to mobile app module by searching for features in the iBuildApp website. Keep in mind that simply typing in the name of the Facebook Business page is enough for this wizard. It will complete the search on Facebook and give you some options to choose.
Don’t copy the URL of your Facebook Business page and paste it in there. It will tell you that the Facebook Page name is wrong.
Step 2: Wait for the System to Generate the App
It only takes a few seconds, but you should see a progress bar on your screen. This informs you that your Facebook mobile app is being processed and created. The system automatically chooses a mobile app template for your Facebook page, but you can change this later if you don’t like it.
Once you hit 100% it asks for you to select your app category. Do so and hit the OK button to proceed.
Step 3: Customize Your App by Adding Different Pages, Features and Templates
Upon completion, the Facebook Business Page to mobile app feature brings you to the app editor, which many of you iBuildApp users are familiar with.
Here you can view the template that iBuildapp selected for you, and even change it out if it doesn’t match your branding strategy. All of your Facebook Business page content should have transferred over, so you don’t have to worry much about filling in details for contact information, photos, posts or About Us information.
All of it is already there.
However, we would recommend seeing if the logo came in properly. You can also add additional pages, tabs and buttons, all of which help to expand the amount of information and functionality that help you connect with your customers. It’s also not a bad idea to change around the colors and put a few click to call (or email) buttons on the homepage. This way, your customers can stay in touch with you.
Step 4: Expand Your User Base by Publishing the Facebook Business App on the App Store
Once you finish your customizations, it’s time to publish the Facebook mobile app on the app stores to give your customers a chance to download it on their phones. A Publish button is located towards the top of the backend editor, so you can click on this and receive information on how to publish on the various types of app stores.
